Tyres for mining and quarry equipment
Mining tyres work in the harshest conditions a tyre can meet: sharp rock, constant maximum load, and in underground mines, narrow drifts where the sidewall scrapes the wall. The category groups the OTR sizes and patterns built for this work.
- L-5 and L-5S — the deepest tread classes. L-5 keeps a lug pattern for traction on loose rock; L-5S is a smooth, solid-rubber tread used on underground load-haul-dump (LHD) loaders where cut resistance and tread volume matter more than grip.
- E-4 — deep-tread transport pattern for rigid and articulated dumpers hauling on rock roads.
- E-3 / L-3 — the standard quarry loader pattern for surface work on mixed ground.
What decides tyre life underground
Cuts and sidewall damage, not tread wear, end most mining tyres early. A cut-resistant compound, correct pressure for the actual load and a driving style that avoids spinning the wheels on rock each extend life measurably. Tyre pressure monitoring pays for itself quickly on an LHD.
Sizes and supply
Typical sizes are 12.00-24, 14.00-24, 17.5-25, 18.00-25 and 26.5-25. We supply West Lake mining patterns from stock in Bratislava or on factory order; quantities for a fleet are priced individually.
